To require the Federal Railroad Administration and the Federal Transit Authority to provide appropriate Congressional notice of safety audits conducted with respect to railroads and rail transit agencies.

Sponsor: Rep. Albio Sires — D — NJ

This bill requires the Federal Railroad Administration or the Federal Transit Authority: (1) within 10 days after beginning a safety audit of a railroad or rail transit agency, to notify specified congressional committees and each Member of Congress representing a state through which such agency operates service; and (2) within 90 days after completing such audit, to report the results to such committees and Members.
