To authorize Department of Veterans Affairs health care providers to provide recommendations and opinions to veterans regarding participation in State marijuana programs.

Sponsor: Rep. Earl Blumenauer — D — OR

Requires the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to authorize physicians and other health care providers employed by the department to provide recommendations and opinions on the use of medical marijuana to veterans who live where its use is legal under state law. The bill also requires health care providers of the department to document those recommendations in the veterans’ health records.
