A bill to require the Administrator of the Western Area Power Administration to establish a pilot project to provide increased transparency for customers, and for other purposes.

Sponsor: Sen. Martha McSally — R — AZ

Directs the Western Area Power Administration (WAPA) to make more information about its financial operations available to the public. WAPA is an agency within the Department of Energy that markets electricity produced at federally owned dams in several western states. WAPA’s expenditures are funded by annual appropriations and are offset over time by income from the sale of electricity.
