A bill to promote United States national security and prevent the resurgence of ISIS, and for other purposes.

Sponsor: Sen. James Risch — R — ID

Enables certain Syrians—notably those who were employed by the U.S. government or affiliated with the U.S. military or humanitarian mission in Syria—to apply for special-immigrant or refugee status, and imposes private-sector mandates by prohibiting entities in the United States from engaging in activities that would otherwise be permitted under current law, such as accessing property that would be frozen by the sanctions.
