A bill to enhance the authority granted to the Department of Homeland Security and Department of Justice with respect to unmanned aircraft systems and unmanned aircraft, and for other purposes.

Sponsor: Sen. Gary Peters — D — MI

Enhances the authority of the Department of Justice and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to detect and counter unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). The bill also authorizes a pilot program expanding UAS mitigation authority for certain state and local governments. Finally, the bill establishes a national counter-UAS training center and require DHS to develop a database that tracks UAS-related incidents.
