Barbara J. Comstock was a Representative from Virginia. Born in Springfield, Massachusetts in 1959, she earned her B.A. from Middlebury College in 1981 and her J.D. from Georgetown University in 1986. She was staff for United States Senator Edward Kennedy of Massachusetts, a private practice lawyer, staff for United States Representative Frank Wolf of Virginia from 1991-1995, staff for United States House of Representatives Oversight and Government Reform Committee from 1995-1999, a campaign aide, staff for United States Justice Department from 2002-2003, a consultant, and a member of the Virginia state house of delegates from 2009-2014. She was elected as a Republican to the 114th and succeeding Congress (January 3, 2015) and defeated in the 2018 general election.
