Brenda Jones was a Representative from Michigan. Born in 1959, she earned her B.A. from Wayne State University and her graduate certificate from Wayne State University. She was a trade union president and has served on the Detroit city council from 2005-present, serving as president from 2014-present. She was elected to the 115th Congress, by special election, to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of United States Representative John Conyers, Jr. She ran unsuccessfully for nomination to the 116th Congress in 2018 and was an unsuccessful write-in candidate for election to the 116th Congress in 2018.
