Brian Babin is a Representative from Texas. Born in Port Arthur, Tex. in 1948, he earned his B.S. from Lamar University in 1973 and his D.D.S. from the University of Texas in 1976. He was in the United States Air Force from 1975-1979 and Texas Army National Guard from 1969-1975. He was also a dentist, the alderman in Woodville, Tex. from 1981-1982 and 1984-1989, mayor of Woodville, Tex. from 1982-1984, a member of the Texas Historical Commission from 1989-1995, a member of the Woodville, Tex. school board from 1992-1995, an unsuccessful candidate for nomination to the United States House of Representatives in 1996 and 1998, and a member of the Lower Neches Valley Authority from 1999-2014. He was elected as a Republican to the 114th and to the succeeding Congress (January 3, 2015-present).
