Carol Shea-Porter is a Representative from New Hampshire. Born in New York City, N.Y. in 1952, she earned her B.A. from the University of New Hampshire in 1975 and her M.P.A. from the University of New Hampshire in 1979. She worked as a social worker and a professor before being elected as a Democrat to the 110th and to the succeeding Congress (January 3, 2007-January 3, 2011). She was an unsuccessful candidate for reelection to the 112th Congress in 2010 but was elected as a Democrat to the 113th Congress (January 3, 2013-January 3, 2015). She was also an unsuccessful candidate for reelection to the 114th Congress in 2014 before she was elected as a Democrat to the 115th Congress (January 3, 2017-present).
