Chris Collins was a Representative from New York. Born in Schenectady, New York in 1950, he earned his B.S. from North Carolina State University in 1972 and his M.B.A. from the University of Alabama in 1975. He was a businessman, an Erie County, N.Y. executive from 2007-2011, and an unsuccessful candidate for election to the United States House of Representatives in 1998 before being elected as a Republican to the 113th Congress and to the two succeeding Congresses until his resignation on September 30, 2019.
