Biography

Dan Bishop is a Representative from North Carolina, born in 1964. He earned his B.S. from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in 1986 and his J.D., UNC-Chapel Hill in 1990. He was a lawyer in private practice, and later a Mecklenburg County commissioner from 2004-2008. A member of the North Carolina state house of representatives from 2015-2017 and of the North Carolina state senate from 2017-2019, he was elected as a Republican to the 116th Congress by special election to fill a vacancy in the district.
