Biography

Frank Pallone Jr. is a Representative from New Jersey. He was born in Long Branch, N.J. on October 30, 1951.

He received his B.A. from Middlebury College in 1973, his M.A. from Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University in 1974, and his J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law in 1978.

He became a lawyer, and was a member of the Long Branch, N.J. city council from 1982-1988.

He was elected as a member of the New Jersey state senate from 1983-1988, and was elected as a Democrat to the One Hundredth Congress, by special election, to fill the vacancy caused by the death of United States Representative James J. Howard, but was not sworn in
because Congress had adjourned, therefore he was elected simultaneously to the One Hundred First Congress and reelected to the fourteen succeeding Congresses (November 8, 1988-present).
