Raymond Eugene (Gene) Green is a Representative from Texas. Born in Houston, Tex. in 1947, he earned his B.B.A. from the University of Houston in 1971 and attended the University of Houston, Bates College of Law from 1973-1977. He was a private practice lawyer, business executive, member of the Texas state house of representatives from 1973-1985, and a member of the Texas state senate from 1985-1993. He was elected as a Democrat to the 103rd and to the twelve succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1993-present).
He served as chair of the Committee on Standards of Official Conduct (110th Congress).
