Biography

James Baird is a Representative from Indiana. Born in Covington, IN, he earned his B.S. from Purdue University in 1967, his M.S. from Purdue University in 1969, and his Ph.D. from the University of Kentucky in 1975. He served in the United States Army from 1970-1971 and was a farmer, small business owner, and a Putnam County commissioner from 2006-2010. He was a member of the Indiana general assembly from 2010-2018 before being elected to the 116th Congress (January 3, 2019-present).
