John J. Faso was a Representative from New York. Born in Massapequa, N.Y. in 1952, he earned his B.S. from State University of New York, Brockport in 1974 and his J.D. from Georgetown University in 1979. He worked as staff for the United States House of Representatives Committee on Government Operations from 1979-1981 and the New York state senate Washington office from 1981-1983. Additionally, he was commissioner for the New York state legislative bill drafting commission from 1983-1986, a member of the New York state assembly from 1986-2002, an unsuccessful candidate for election as New York state comptroller in 2002, a member of the Buffalo Fiscal Stability Authority, N.Y. from 2003-2006, an unsuccessful candidate for election as Governor of New York in 2006 and a political consultant. He was elected as a Republican to the 115th Congress and defeated in the 2018 general election.
