Biography

Lloyd Alton Doggett II is a Representative from Texas. Born in Austin, Tex. in 1946, he earned his B.A. from the University of Texas in 1967 and his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law in 1970. He was a member of the Texas state senate from 1973-1985, Justice of the Texas supreme court from 1989-1994, an adjunct professor at the University of Texas School of Law from 1989-1994, and an unsuccessful candidate for election to the United States Senate in 1984. He was elected as a Democrat to the 104th and to the eleven succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1995-present).
