Michael Dean Bishop was a Representative from Michigan. He was born in Almont, Michigan on March 18, 1967. He received his A.B. from the University of Michigan in 1989, his J.D. from Detroit College of Law (now Michigan State College of Law) in 1993. He worked as a lawyer, realtor, and business owner before becoming a member of the Michigan state house of representatives from 1999-2002. He was a member of the Michigan state senate from 2003-2010.
He was an unsuccessful candidate for nomination for Michigan state attorney general in 2010, and was an unsuccessful candidate for election as Oakland County, Michigan prosecutor in 2012. He was elected as a Republican to the One Hundred Fourteenth Congress and was defeated in the 2018 general election (2015-2018).
