Michael Everett Capuano is a Representative from Massachusetts. He was born in Somerville, Massachusetts on January 9, 1952.
He received his A.B. from Dartmouth College in 1973, and his J.D. from Boston College in 1977.
He worked as chief legal counsel and was on a joint committee on taxation in Massachusetts.
He served in the Massachusetts state legislature from 1978-1984, and was an alderman for Somerville, Massachusetts from 1977-1979, and alderman-at-large for Somerville from 1985-1989. He was elected Mayor of Somerville from 1990-1998.
He was the Democratic state committeeman in 1996, and was elected as a Democrat to the One Hundred Sixth and to the nine succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1999-present).
