Michael Conaway is a Representative from Texas. Born in Borger, Texas in 1948, he earned his B.B.A. from Texas Agricultural and Mechanical University-Commerce in 1970. He served in the United States Army from 1970-1972, was a certified public accountant, a bank executive, a member of the Midland, Texas school board from 1985-1988, and an unsuccessful candidate for special election for the United States House of Representatives in 2003. He was elected as a Republican to the 109th and to the six succeeding Congresses (January 3, 2005-present).
He is the former chair of the Committee on Ethics
(113th Congress) and is the current chair of the Committee on Agriculture (114th and 115th Congresses).
