Norma Torres is a Representative from California. Born in Escuintla, Guatemala, in 1965, she attended Mount Saint Antonio College in Walnut, CA, from 1999-2000, and Rio Hondo College in Whittier, CA. She earned her B.A. from National Labor College in 2012.
She worked as an emergency dispatcher, sales representative, and member of the Pomona, CA, city council from 2000-2006. She was Mayor of Pomona from 2006-2008. She also served in the California state assembly from 2008-2013 and the California state senate from 2013-2014.
She was elected to the 114th Congress (January 3, 2015-present).
