Marsha Blackburn is a Representative from Tennessee. Born in Laurel, Mississippi in 1952, she earned her B.S. from Mississippi State University in 1973. She was a business owner, private advocate, an unsuccessful candidate for election to the 103rd Congress in 1992, and a member of the Tennessee state senate from 1998-2002. She was elected as a Republican to the 108th and to the seven succeeding Congresses (January 3, 2003-present).
