Robert (Rob) Bishop was a Representative from Utah. Born in Kaysville, Utah in 1951, he earned his B.A. from the University of Utah in 1974. He was a teacher, professional advocate, member of the Utah state house of representatives from 1979-1994 and the speaker from 1992-1994. He was elected as a Republican to the 108th and to
the seven succeeding Congresses (January 3, 2003-January 3, 2021).
He wa the chair of the Committee on Natural Resources (114th and 115th Congresses).
