Robert Pittenger is a Representative from North Carolina. Born in Dallas, Texas in 1948, he earned his B.A. from the University of Texas in 1970. He was a campus ministry organizer, business owner, and member of the North Carolina state senate from 2003-2008. He ran unsuccessfully for lieutenant governor of North Carolina in 2008 before being elected as a Republican to the 113th and to the two succeeding Congresses (January 3, 2013-present).
