Robin L. Kelly is a Representative from Illinois. She was born in New York, N.Y. on April 30, 1956. She received her B.A. from Bradley University in 1977, her M.A. from Bradley University in 1982, and her Ph.D. from Northern Illinois University in 2004.
She worked as a counselor and community affairs director in Matteson, Illinois from 1992-2006. She was a member of the Illinois state house of representatives from 2003-2007, and served as chief of staff to the Illinois state treasurer from 2007-2010. She was chief administrative officer in Cook County Illinois from 2010-2012.
She was elected as a Democrat to the One Hundred Thirteenth Congress, by special election to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of United States Representative Jesse L. Jackson, Jr., and to the succeeding Congress (April 9, 2013-present).
