Rosa L. DeLauro is a Representative from Connecticut. Born in New Haven, CT, in 1943, she earned her B.A. from Marymount College in 1964. She attended the London School of Economics from 1962-1963, before earning her M.A. from Columbia University in 1966.
She worked on staff to Mayor Frank Logue of New Haven, CT, from 1976-1977, and was campaign manager from Mayor Frank Logue in 1978. She was also on staff for the New Haven, CT, development administrator from 1977-1979. She was also campaign manager for United States Senator Christopher J. Dodd of Connecticut from 1979-1980, and served on staff for United States Senator Christopher J. Dodd of Connecticut from 1981-1987.
She was executive director, Countdown ‘87, from 1987-1988, and executive director for EMILY’S List from 1989-1990. She was elected to the 102nd and to the twelve succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1991-present).
