Thomas J. Rooney is a Representative from Florida. Born in Philadelphia, PA, in 1970, he attended Syracuse University in 1989 before earning his B.A. from Washington and Jefferson College in 1993 and his M.A. from the University of Florida in 1996. He earned his J.D. from the University of Miami in 1999.
He served in the United States Army from 2000-2004 and was a private practice lawyer, and assistant attorney general, for the Office of the Attorney General, State of Florida. He was also a professor at the United States Military Academy, West Point, N.Y. He worked on staff for United States Senator Connie Mack III of Florida
He was elected to the 111th and to the four succeeding Congresses (January 3, 2009-present).
