Walter Beaman Jones Jr., (son of Walter Beaman Jones, Sr.), is a Representative from North Carolina. Born in Farmville, North Carolina in 1943, he graduated from Hargrave Military Academy in 1961 and earned his B.A. from Atlantic Christian College (now Barton College) in 1966. He served in the North Carolina National Guard from 1967-1971 and was a member of the North Carolina state house of representatives from 1983-1992. He was an unsuccessful candidate for nomination to the 103rd Congress in 1992 before being elected as a Republican to the 104th and to the eleven succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1995-present).
