Dean Heller is a Senator from Nevada. Born in Castro Valley, CA, in 1960, he earned his B.S. from the University of Southern California in 1985 and was a member of the Nevada state assembly from 1990-1994. He served as Nevada secretary of state from 1995-2007 and was elected to the 110tth and to the two succeeding Congresses. He was appointed in 2011 to the United States Senate to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of John E. Ensign; he was subsequently elected in 2012.
