Robert Bennett (son of Wallace Foster Bennett) was a Senator from Utah. Born in Salt Lake City, UT, he graduated from the University of Utah in 1956. He served in the Utah National Guard from 1957-1960 and was chief, Congressional liaison, U.S. Department of Transportation as well as chief executive officer for Franklin Quest from 1984-1992. He was chairman of the Utah Education Strategic Planning Commission in 1988 before being elected to the United States Senate in 1992 and reelected in 1998 and again in 2004. He served until January 3, 2011 and was an unsuccessful candidate for renomination in 2010.
