Russell Dana Feingold was a Senator from Wisconsin. Born in Janesville, WI, he graduated University of Wisconsin in 1975 and attended Magdalen College in Oxford, England, as a Rhodes Scholar, receiving a graduate degree in 1977. He graduated Harvard University Law School in 1979 and was admitted to the Wisconsin bar in 1979, practicing law in Madison, WI, from 1979-1985. He was a visiting professor at Beloit College in 1985 and a member of the Wisconsin State Senate from 1983-1993 before being elected to the United States Senate in 1992 and reelected in 1998 and 2004. He served from January 3, 1993, to January 3, 2011 and ran unsuccessfully for reelection in 2010.
