Saxby Chambliss was a Senator and a Representative from Georgia. Born in Warrenton, NC, he earned his B.A. from University of Georgia in 1966 and his J.D. from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 1968. He was an attorney in Moultrie, GA, before being elected to the House of Representatives for the 104th and the three succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1995-January 3, 2003). He did not run for reelection to the House of Representatives but was elected as a Republican to the U.S. Senate in 2002 and reelected in 2008. He served from January 3, 2003, to January 3, 2015.
