To support empowerment, economic security, and educational opportunities for adolescent girls around the world, and for other purposes.

Sponsor: Rep. Lois Frankel — D — FL

Authorizes the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) to undertake projects to improve secondary-school attendance by girls. USAID operates two programs in Africa targeted at secondary school girls. The bill also requires USAID to report regularly to the Congress on its activities under the bill. Lastly, it would require the Department of State and USAID to review and periodically update a global strategy to empower adolescent girls.
