To promote international efforts in combating corruption, kleptocracy, and illicit finance by foreign officials and other foreign persons, including through a new anti-corruption action fund, and for other purposes.
Sponsor: Rep. William Keating — D — MA
Imposes new penalties for certain criminal violations, authorizes the Department of State to spend amounts collected from those penalties to reduce corruption by public officials in foreign countries, and establishes an interagency task force to coordinate federal efforts to help foreign countries reduce corruption.
