Legislation Details

117th Congress

To improve the methods by which the Secretary of Veterans Affairs identifies health care providers that are not eligible to participate in the Veterans Community Care Program.

Sponsor: Rep. Chris Pappas — D — NH

Requires the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to implement a plan for improving its ability to identify health care providers that are ineligible to participate in the Veterans Community Care Program. Under the plan, VA would automatically check whether providers are designated as ineligible on other lists managed by the Department of Health and Human Services and by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. VA also would be required to analyze the efficacy of allowing providers to self-certify their eligibility to participate in the program.
