A bill to authorize the Secretary of the Interior to construct, operate, and maintain facilities in the Sun River project, Montana, for the purpose of hydroelectric power generation.
Sponsor: Sen. Steve Daines — R — MT
Authorizes the Bureau of Reclamation (BOR) to develop hydropower generation facilities through a lease with a private entity in Montana’s Sun River project. Under that agreement, private entities would pay BOR fees based on the amount of energy produced by the project; those fees could be spent or applied to outstanding obligations for the project.
