Alan Grayson is a Representative from Florida. Born in the Bronx, N.Y., in 1958, he earned his A.B. from Harvard University in 1978, his M.P.P. from Harvard University in 1983, and his J.D. from Harvard University in 1983.
He was worked as a law clerk at the Colorado Supreme Court in 1983 and at the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals from 1984 to 1985. He also worked as a private practice attorney and founded IDT Corporation.
He ran unsuccessfully for the United States House of Representatives in 2006 and was elected to the 111th Congress (January 3, 2009-January 3, 2011). He lost the 2010 general election to Daniel Webster but was later reelected to the 113th Congress. In 2016, he lost the US Senate Democratic primary to Patrick Murphy.
