Dennis Moore was a Representative from Kansas. Born in Anthony, KS, he earned his B.A. from the University of Kansas in 1967 and his J.D. from Washburn University School of Law in 1970. He served in the United States Army in 1970 and the United States Army Reserve from 1970-1973. He was a private practice lawyer and was Kansas state assistant attorney general from 1971-1973. He was district attorney for Johnson County, KS, from 1977-1989 and served on the board of trustees for Johnson County Community College from 1993-1999. He was elected to the 106th and to the five succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1999-January 3, 2011). He did not run for reelection to the 112th Congress in 2010.
