Randy Forbes was a Representative from Virginia. Born in Chesapeake, Virginia in 1952, he earned his B.A. from Randolph-Macon College and his J.D. from the University of Virginia in 1977. He worked as a private practice lawyer, chaired the Republican Party of Virginia from 1996-2001, was a member of the Virginia state house of delegates from 1989-1997, and was a member of the Virginia state senate from 1997-2001. He was elected as a Republican to the 107th Congress, by special election, to fill the vacancy caused by the death of United States Representative Norman Sisisky, and reelected to the seven succeeding Congresses (June 19, 2001-January 3, 2017).
