Jean Schmidt is a Representative from Ohio. Born in 1951, she earned her B.A. from the University of Cincinnati in 1974. She was the Lead Clermont for the University of Cincinnati in 1993, a trustee for Miami Township in Miami, Ohio from 1989-2000, a member of the Ohio state house of representatives from 2000-2004 before being elected as a Republican to the 109th Congress, by special election, to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of United States Representative Rob Portman and reelected to the three succeeding Congresses (August 2, 2005-January 3, 2013). She was an unsuccessful candidate for nomination to the 113th Congress in 2012.
