Jim Gerlach is a Representative from Pennsylvania. Born in Ellwood City, Pa. in 1955, he earned his B.A. from Dickinson College in 1977 and his J.D. from Dickinson College in 1980. He was a private practice lawyer, a member of the Pennsylvania state house of representatives from 1991-1994 and a member of the Pennsylvania state senate from 1995-2002. He was elected as a Republican to the 108th and to the five succeeding Congresses (January 3, 2003-January 3, 2015). He was not a candidate for reelection to the 114th Congress in 2014.
