Mike Coffman was a Representative from Colorado. Born in Fort Leonard Wood, MO, in 1955, he received his graduation equivalency degree through the United States Army before earning his B.A. from the University of Colorado, Boulder, in 1979.
He served in the United States Army from 1972-1974, the United States Army Reserve from 1975-1978, the United States Marine Corps from 1979-1982, and the United States Marine Corps Reserve from 1983-1994 and 2005-2006. He was a small business owner and member of the Colorado state house of representatives, from 1989-1994. He also served in the Colorado state senate from 1994-1998. He was Colorado state treasurer from 1999-2007 and Colorado secretary of state from 2007-2008.
He was elected to the 111th and to the three succeeding Congresses (January 3, 2009) and was defeated in the 2018 general election.
