Nikema Williams, a Representative from Georgia, was born in Columbus on July 30, 1978 and graduated from Talladega High School in 1996. She earned her B.S. from Talladega College in 2000 and was a professional advocate and vice-chair of the Georgia Democratic Party from 2011–2013. She was the acting chair of the Georgia Democratic Party in 2013 and a Delegate to the Democratic National Convention in 2008, 2012, and 2016. A member of the Georgia state senate from 2017–2021 and chair of the Georgia Democratic Party from 2019–2021, she was elected as a Democrat to the One Hundred Seventeenth Congress (January 3, 2021–present).
