Nicola S. (Niki) Tsongas (wife of Paul Tsongas) is
a Representative from Massachusetts. She was born in Chico California on April 26, 1946.
She graduated from Narimasu American High School, Tokyo, Japan in 1964 and attended Michigan State University. She received her B.A. from Smith College in 1968 and her J.D. from Boston University in 1988.
She has worked as a social worker, lawyer, and dean of external affairs at Middlesex Community College from 1997-2007.
She was elected as a Democrat to the One Hundred Tenth Congress, by special election, to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Representative Martin Meehan, and reelected to the five succeeding Congresses (October 16, 2007-present).
