Robert Hurt is a Representative from Virginia. Born in New York, N.Y. in 1969, he earned his B.A. from Hampden-Sydney College in 1991 and his J.D. from Mississippi College in 1995. He was a private practice lawyer, deputy attorney in Pittsylvania County, Va., a member of the Chatham, Va., town council from 2000-2001, a member of Virginia state house of delegates from 2002-2008, and a member of Virginia state senate from 2008-2010. He was elected as a Republican to the 112th and to the two succeeding Congresses (January 3, 2011-January 3, 2017).
