Timothy Murphy is a Representative from Pennsylvania. Born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1952, he earned his B.S. from Wheeling Jesuit University in 1974, his M.S. from Cleveland State University in 1976, and his Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh in 1979. He was the assistant professor of pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, an associate professor (adjunct) at University of Pittsburgh School of Public Health, a psychologist, a member of the Pennsylvania state senate from 1996-2002, and he serves in the United States Navy Reserve Medical Service Corps from 2009-present. He was elected as a Republican to the 108th and to the six succeeding Congresses (January 3, 2003-present).
