Jon Tester is a Senator from Montana. Born in Havre, MT, in 1956, he graduated College of Great Falls in 1978. He has been a farmer; teacher; member, Big Sandy school board, 1983-1992 (chairman 1986-1991). He also served in the Montana State senate from 1999-2006, serving as minority whip from 2001-2003, as minority leader from 2003-2005, and as president from 2005-2006. He was elected to the United States Senate in 2006. He has chaired the Committee on Indian Affairs (113th Congress) and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (2015-present).
