Kelly Ayotte was a Senator from New Hampshire. Born in Nashua, NH, in 1968, she earned her B.A. from Pennsylvania State University in 1990 and her J.D. from Villanova University in 1993. She was a law clerk to New Hampshire Supreme Court Justice Sherman Horton; a lawyer; prosecutor in the New Hampshire attorney generals office from 1998-2000; and staff to the New Hampshire attorney general from 2000-2003. She was also counsel to New Hampshire Governor Craig Benson in 2003, deputy attorney general of New Hampshire from 2003-2004, and attorney general of New Hampshire from 2004-2009. She was elected to the United States Senate in 2010.
