H.R 22, formerly the Hire More Heroes Act, has become the Senate’s vehicle for passage of the Developing a Reliable and Innovative Vision for the Economy Act or DRIVE Act (S. 1647). The DRIVE Act is a major bipartisan transportation bill that would authorize funding for highway infrastructure investments. H.R. 22 became the DRIVE Act through S.Amdt. 2266, which was agreed to in the Senate 62-32 in a cloture vote. Export-Import Bank Reform and Reauthorization Act (S. 819), which would reauthorize the Export-Import Bank through fiscal year 2019, as well as introduce reforms on taxpayer protection, promotion of small businesses, modernization, and other subjects, was also added into the bill in a 64-29 vote. The bill now goes to the House. The original text of the Hire More Heroes Act has been reintroduced as H.J.Res. 61, which was passed in the House without a roll call vote.
