A bill to improve the prohibitions on money laundering, and for other purposes.

Sponsor: Sen. Charles Grassley — R — IA

Broadens the coverage of current laws that address money laundering. People who violate the bill’s provisions could be subject to criminal fines, so the federal government might collect additional fines under the legislation. The bill also directs the Secretary of the Treasury to prepare an analysis of the criminal use of remittances and develop a plan to reduce such criminal acts.
