Robert A. Brady is a Representative from Pennsylvania. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1945, he graduated from St. Thomas More High School. Before serving in Congress, he was a union official, sergeant-at-arms for Philadelphia, Pennsylvania city council from 1975-1983, the chair of the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Democratic Party, a member of the Pennsylvania Democratic state committee and Democratic National Committee, and a member of the Pennsylvania turnpike commission from 1991-1998. He was elected as a Democrat to the 105th Congress, by special election, to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of United States Representative Thomas Foglietta and reelected to the ten succeeding Congresses (May 19, 1998-present).
He also served as the chair of the Committee on House Administration (110th and 111th Congresses).
